The Turnpike offers a range of opportunities for children and young people to get involved in creative activities.
From toddlers to teenagers and everything in between, we provide artist-led workshops and projects which are designed to develop skills, confidence and knowledge.
Inclusive creative enterprise project for children 7-11yrs

Projects with artists to explore how designs might 'save the world'. The children will work with three amazing artists through 5-week blocks of activities to create artwork and products which explore climate change, sustainability and social justice, and then work together to create their own pop up shop!

Presented by Culture Unlocked - Wigan and Leigh's Cultural Education Partnership
For young people 14-19yrs in the Wigan Borough
Monthly scheduled sessions are an opportunity for young people to explore creative leadership skills, gain insight into working in the arts sector, and have a say on big decisions across the borough.

A partnership with Togther Trust, Wigan Targeted Youth Services and True Colours CIC
Young people from across Greater Manchester aged13yrs+ and experiencing complex disadvantages will be working with artists on our Making of Us programme, exploring the ideas that matter to them and creating collaborative artworks.
The Turnpike is supporting 15 artists over 2 years to test and explore ways of working together with vulnerable young people.
