The Turnpike offers a range of opportunities for children and young people to get involved in creative activities.

From toddlers to teenagers and everything in between, we provide artist-led workshops and projects which are designed to develop skills, confidence and knowledge.

Regular attendees to our workshops and projects also have the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award.


    Saturdays during term-time

    £3 per week or £15 for 6 weeks

    10am – 12pm

    Soapbox workshops for children 6-11yrs are friendly, informal and lots of fun. Sessions explore big ideas, stories and issues through different art forms. Soapbox is a chance for children to create and showcase their own work and a great way to develop skills, build confidence and meet new friends.

    Inclusive holiday workshops for young artists 6-11 years.

    Creative Club is a group of young people who are imaginative, curious and bursting with creative energy. 

    2020 Vision

    In 2019, the group selected artist Hannah Brown as their '2020 Vision' artist commission. They will be working with her between October 2019 and May 2020 to create artwork for our exciting exhibition later in the year. 

    Project dates and times: 

    24th October 2019, 11am -3pm

    21st Feb 2020, 11am -3pm

    8th & 9th April 2020, 11am -3pm

    27th & 28th May 2020, 11am -3pm

    £4 a session, bring a packed lunch

    /or £2 charge for a sandwich, fruit and crisps.
